VOD（Video On Demand）即視頻點播技術的簡稱,也稱為交互式電視點播系統。是隨著計算機技術和網絡通訊技術的發展，綜合了計算機技術、通訊技術、電視技術而迅速新興的一門綜合性技術。它利用了網絡和視頻技術的優勢，徹底改變了過去收看節目的被動方式，實現了節目的按需收看和任意播放，集動態影視圖像、靜態圖片、聲音、文字等信息為一體，為用戶提供實時、交互、按需點播服務的系統。
本文主要闡述了如何利用VC設計實現客戶端和服務器，以及使用Socket和Directshow技術來實現它們之間的通信，系統基本達到了預期的設計要求。文中還重點介紹了該系統的各個重要模塊及FILTER的設計和實現，并對系統的優缺點進行了總結，提出了對未來的展望。
